Q: You Talk about protection, what is that and how would I protect myself? A: Your spirit body ascends into the universe/spirit world and your physical body no longer functions and decays, however your spiritual body is unharmed, and passes into the universe free from its earthly ties, and it continues to exist as energy. Q: Why can some people see spirits and others can't? A: Everyone has the ability to be psychic; but some people have developed increased awareness and are very sensitive to changes in energy. Mediums are very sensitive, and they have the ability to communicate with those souls who have passed into the spirit world. Q: How do mediums communicate with people who have passed? A: Some mediums are clairvoyant, this means that they are able to see the spirit person, or they may be clairaudient, and can hear them or they could be clairsentient, which means that they sense them. Q: Are some mediums able to use all these skills or would they just use one? A: They may very well use all these skills together, if these have been developed, or they may just use one, each gift has its own unique qualities. Q: I sometimes feel as though I have got spiders crawling on my face what is this? A: This is spiritual energy, there is nothing to worry about, if it feels uncomfortable, just ask for it to stop. A: Again, this is energy and nothing to worry about, when people initially become sensitive, and start to look at life, and explore aspects of universe and spiritual energy they may see this phenomenon. Q: I have heard people talking about meditation, what is this? A: Meditation is a relaxation tool that helps to calm your mind and body and gives you the chance to listen to your inner voice, the more you practice it; the more you will understand how it can help you. A: You do not have to clear your mind, in a 24 hour period thousands of thoughts go through your mind as you process information. Just let your thoughts flow through, don't give them any significance and within a short while they will decrease. Once you are not putting up a fight you will start to relax more. Q: Where is the best place to meditate? A: Either sitting in a comfortable chair, or lying on the bed in a quite room, where you know family, television or the telephone won't disturb you. Q: Would it help to do a relaxation technique before I meditate? A: Yes, you could spend a few minutes' deep breathing, and then work up your body from your feet to the top of your head, tightening and relaxing parts of your body to release any tension. Q: How often should I meditate? A: It is helpful to meditate daily even if it's only for ten minutes, if you can't manage that, aim for 2-3 times a week and before long you will certainly feel the benefit. Q: I have heard people talk about chakras, what are they? A: The energy body has seven main chakras which means "wheels"; they form part of the auric body and are located at major points of the nervous system. They move constantly and sometimes they do no work as effectively as they could, this is usually because a part of our body is out of balance. Here is a brief description; however you can obtain much more in-depth information from the library, bookshops or on the Internet. The crown chakra is situated on the crown (top of the head) it is white or violet in colour and governs the function of the pineal gland, and balances the nervous system. It is associated with higher thought and spirituality. When this is out of balance you can connect with your guides and higher power and spend time focusing o your breathing this will help you to balance you emotions. The brow chakra or third eye is just above the eyebrows in the middle of the forehead, it is Indigo in colour and governs the pituitary gland, and its function is to balance the hormones, aid sleep and purify the body. It is linked with imagination and visualization. When this is out of balance it is will help to meditate and declutter your mind The throat chakra is BLUE and is situated in the middle of the throat, governs the thyroid and parathyroid glands and controls the metabolic rate, and, balances the body's equilibrium. When this chakra is out of balance you need to sit quietly and focus on yourself. What are you not saying to honor yourself, learn to speak your truth? The heart chakra is GREEN and is in the heart area, and governs the thymus; on a physical level it is connected with the function of the heart, blood and chest area. When this chakra is out of balance you need to sit quietly and connect with your heart, breathe in the colour green and be kind to yourself to so that you can begin to learn to love yourself. The solar plexus chakra is in the upper part of the stomach and is YELLOW, and governs the pancreas and clears out toxins in the digestive system, pancreas and liver. When this chakra is out of balance you often feel discomfort in the tummy area and need to connect with our life force by breathing in while focusing on the colour yellow. This will help to balance your emotions and anxiety. The Sacral chakra is below the naval and is ORANGE, and governs the spleen; it helps to absorb nutriments within the body. When it is out of balance we often disconnected from the nurturing feminine side of us. So have fun, laugh, watch a good film, dance and sing. The base chakra is situated at the base of the spine and is RED; it governs the spinal column and kidneys and is concerned with physical strength and vitality. When this is out of balance we can feel as though we are not safe and secure. Visualize sending red roots, like the tree down into the earth to ground your energy, you will then feel strong and safe. Q: I sometimes see a white glow around people and colours what is this? A: This is the person's aura, the energy field surrounding the body. One of the auras main functions is to absorb light, which then splits into coloured rays and is distributed to the chakras to keep the body balanced. When one of more of our chakras become out of balance this can cause us to be unwell. Q: How can I keep my chakras balanced? A: This can be achieved by bringing colours into your life, through the clothes you wear, have you noticed that there are certain times you feel attracted to certain colours? For example when you need confidence to deal with sometimes, you are drawn to red for strength, or if you are feeling unwell, you are drawn to green for healing or you have to give a talk and you are attracted to blue, for communication. Eating a well balanced diet is helpful, as is eating fresh fruit and vegetables, as these are living energy and therefore increase your vitality. Prayer is really valuable as it balances and uplifts the spirit. Q: If I wanted to learn to be a medium what should I do? A: Go along to your local spiritualist church and ask to join their awareness group, where you will learn mediation and protection. After this you could go into a development group where you will learn to extend your awareness, you may see colours, hear voices and see images, this must always be done in a safe environment with a suitably qualified teacher. There are also sites on the Internet that provide training and retreats. Q: You Talk about protection, what is that and how would I protect myself? A: We have all been near a person who is very anxious or angry, and we start to feel agitated ourselves and our stomach churns, or we are with some one and suddenly we become very tired and listless and the other person becomes full of energy, this is because they have taken some of your energy, without realizing, or you have taken some of their energy into your aura because it was open and unprotected. Make a mental note when this happens and visualize yourself being cloaked in a white light and say a prayer to yourself, it works wonders. We have all encountered the person whom we meet for the first time that we feel we have known for years, this is because our auras have touched and are compatible as your energies are similar, and we feel comfortable. We have also met the person who we take an instant dislike to, we have no idea why, because we have never met them before, this is because your auras do not have similar energy vibration, and it makes you feel uncomfortable. Start to trust your instincts. There are numerous self-development and spiritual books available, which will help you to learn more about spiritual development and self-awareness; you will be drawn to the one that is right for you.
